Corporate Social Responsibility
We consider enhancing social welfare in every region where we operate as a responsibility beyond creating economic value. With this approach, we develop projects that generate social benefit in education, environment, culture, and sports, and we create lasting value together with our stakeholders. Our corporate social responsibility activities are carried out through the Sani Konukoğlu Foundation under SANKO Holding.
UNICEF MakerUp Project
Through the MakerUp Program, which we have implemented in collaboration with UNICEF Türkiye, we aim to shape the digital future of children in Southeastern Anatolia and support them in becoming individuals who produce technology, think critically, and develop innovative solutions. This three-year social investment program focuses on enhancing the logical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and project development skills of children aged 7–14. Through trainings in areas such as robotic coding, 3D modeling, and IoT (Internet of Things), we help children develop both their technical and social competencies.
The trainings have started in workshops established at the Gaziantep Youth Center and the Adıyaman Dr. Şerif Ayaz Culture and Education Center. These workshops are equipped with computers, coding kits, sensors, motor sets, LEGO educational materials, and 3D printers. Beyond serving as training spaces, these workshops represent permanent educational infrastructures that support long-term capacity building in the region. In addition to these fixed locations, the program also reaches rural areas and widely dispersed communities—primarily in Gaziantep, as well as Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis,
Şanlıurfa, and Mardin—through a Mobile Maker vehicle. This approach ensures that children with limited access to technology can also benefit from digital learning opportunities.
Within the scope of the MakerUp Program, we aim to reach approximately 5,000 children each year. To ensure the sustainability of the program, we also train local teachers and actively involve them in the process, with the goal of integrating MakerUp content into the local education system over the long term.
Skill Development Centers (BEYEM)
To support the psychosocial recovery and socio‑cognitive development of children affected by the earthquake, we launched the Skill and Talent Centers (BEYEM) in cooperation with the SosyalBen Foundation. In the centers established in Hatay and Adıyaman, we accompany children’s development in a safe, supportive, and continuously learning‑oriented environment.
Through the Inventive Workshops we conduct within BEYEM centers, we aim to increase the interest of children aged 7–13 in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and support them in becoming the inventors of the future. The workshops help children develop important skills such as problem‑solving, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
Within one year, we reached 2,750 children and delivered 1,920 hours of training at the centers in Hatay and Adıyaman. Over three years, we aim to directly support 100,000 children and indirectly support another 250,000 through BEYEM.
Çimko Volunteering Movement
We regard volunteering as one of the fundamental elements of our corporate culture. By participating in projects that create value for society and the environment, we generate shared benefit together.
With Çimko volunteers, we carried out an afforestation project in the limestone quarry in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş, where our production activities had been completed, demonstrating once again our commitment to environmental sustainability and regional development. In cooperation with the Kahramanmaraş Regional Directorate of Forestry, we afforested a 25,000‑square‑meter area. We planted 1,150 stone pines, 250 red pines, 350 acacias, 50 cypresses, and 30 cedars. Additionally, by sowing 20 kilograms of red pine seeds, we contributed to strengthening the ecological balance of the region.
As part of the volunteering movement launched with the slogan “In Pursuit of a Clean Nature,” we organized a coastal clean‑up in İnkum in cooperation with the ÇEVKO Foundation and Bartın Municipality. Employees and their families from our Bartın factory, Ereğli grinding facility, and Black Sea region ready‑mix concrete plants gathered for the event, contributing to the protection of the coastal ecosystem.
